To get back to genealogy --

I am looking for information on ROBERT CROWDER. He was born circa 1778.
"Crowder" could possibly be spelled "CROUDER" or "CROUTHER". He moved to
Tennessee sometime before 1830. The names of his parents are unknown and it
is unknown what county or district in South Carolina that he was from.

In the 1790 census for Laurens County, South Carolina, there is a "ROBERT
CROWDER" listed. This "ROBERT CROWDER" had 1 free white male 16 years and
up, 6 free males under 16 and 2 white female. I do not think that this is
the "ROBERT CROWDER" I am looking for because the "ROBERT CROWDER" I am
looking for would have been 12 years old in 1790. Could the "ROBERT
CROWDER" born in 1778" be a son of the "ROBERT CROWDER" listed in the 1790
census?

I have also found a Robert Crowder in an Index to South Carolina for 1800.

Is there anyone out there researching this line? Would appreciate any help
that anyone can give to me.

Thanks,

Jennifer Fuqua
