The Appleton family of Alabama would like to learn more about the family 
that has roots in Old District 96 of South Carolina.  A Grigsby E. Appleton 
married Eliza Mary Waller in 1820 in Abbeville District, SC.    We are 
interested in learning who Grigsby's parents were as well as siblings.   We 
have learned of a Thomas Appleton who lived in that same area in 1779 and 
died in the 1780's.   Our belief is that Thomas was Grigsby's 
grandfather.   There is also some connection with the Rev. Joachim 
Bulow  (perhaps as a son-in-law?) of that same area.   We would be most 
appreciative of any insight into the Appleton's of South Carolina of that
