I am searching for info on an Ann Frances Dupree that was living in
Charleston, SC in 1809.  I have records of her marriage to a Benjamin Hawes,
Sr. on 8/12/1809.  This marriage was conducted by the Rev. Munds.  It seems
that they had one child who they named Benjamin, Jr. who was born in 1810.
Benjamin, Sr. died in Charleston around 1820 and Ann Frances moved to
Pendleton County, SC where she was thought to have family.  On February 1824
she married a Sam GASSAWAY in Pendleton County.  This couple, along with Ann
Frances' son Ben, migrated to Tippah County, MS. It is thought that they made
the trip with the Gassaway family. (I do not know which members, but I do have
Tippah and Union County burial records for a number of the Gassaway family
members.)
