Subject: Anderson Co., SC --- Happy99 Virus From: Donna Sarchet Date: February 11, 1999 One quick word about the viruses & Rootsweb lists and then my SC genealogical query---- About virus attachments and Rootsweb lists--There has been a lively discussion lately on the Listowners List about the Happy99 virus attachment. Rest assured that *no attachments* of any kind can be sent on a Rootsweb list (any message with an attachment bounces to the listowner). This has been the policy for over a year now. Thus, there is absolutely no way one can receive a virus via an attachment from *any* Rootsweb list. The recent inadvertent infections have come from (1) individuals exchanging emails and (2) lists (NOT Rootsweb) that allow attachments. As for SC families, I'm interested in the following related/associated families who were in Spartanburg Dist the NC/SC border dispute area) in the late 1700s; by the early 1800s they had moved into Pendleton Dist (the part which became Anderson Co.)--- Stanley, McKay, Hester, Holland, Ledbetter, Martin, Brown, Holloway.
