Subject: Ancestry.com Newsletter is Great. From: Jochurchd Date: July 14, 1998 I visited the Ancestry.com site last year, and searched some of the databases and maps which were accessible during the free search period. I was impressed at what was available, and found much useful information, but was unable to afford membership. I continued to visit and search the free databases. I signed up for the free newsletter they offer, and I love it. It is always chock full of pertinent websites, hints, excerpts from useful books, I can't begin to do it justice. The newsletter always tells me which database and which maps are going into the free area on the day they are posted, so I have ten days to search them to my hearts' content before they are placed in the members only section. My sister gave me a year's membership in Ancestry for Christmas last year, and I love it. Don't know what I'll do when it expires! Back to the freebies for me, I guess. Yes, they are a commercial site, but they do seem to have integrity, and to be firmly committed to genealogical research and the genealogical community. Great job, Steve Coker.
