Subject: re: Ancester.com From: Teesquare Date: July 13, 1998 Janet, The only way that I have found to get past the "Pay Per View" or "Pay as You Go" with the many members only genealogy Web Page services, is to find a link by way of a Internet Search. Use "Webcrawler" or "Infoseek" or "Excite", enter your Surname and scroll through the many listings that may contain the information you are seeking. About 50% of the time the search will get you past all of "Pay for Information" Protocols, and allow your to search the Web Site to your hearts content. Each of the services off non-members a very minimal free Surname search, and then give you information like how many sites with-in its guarded walls contain the Surname you are researching, then give you the membership hypte to gain access to the many resources. I am cheap, I share whatever genealogy data I have frre of charge, and I have received shared data from members of these services. Why pay for something you can get for Free. Sharing genealogy data is interesting, fun, educational, and many times one meets a new distant relative or cousin. Researching James F. CATES b abt 1750 probably in SC, then migrated to TN. Also researching William T. DUNCAN b 1781/87 s/o William and Mary DUNCAN from Scotland.
