Bet that greeting threw ya!  My name is Cindy Sidwell, born and raised in
Greer, SC but married a Navy man some 18 years ago and for the last 10 years
(will be the end of March) live in Pearl Harbor Hawaii.

Last year while going through paperwork I had filed away for some time, I
came across my mothers genealogy she had worked on in the early '80 that she
did for a family reunion.  You see, my Mom died in 1986, Dad in 1987 and I
have been away from family so long that I have been kind of numb to even
want to know my history which is a shame because I have 2 teenage sons that
have never had the luxury to even visit their grandparents on Sunday
afternoons! Finding those papers really piqued my interest again!  Mom's
history (her dad Norman OLIVER from Pickens, her mom Irene BOWLING from I
think the same) is pretty well documented for her dad through her family
bible, for her mom was done for the reunion.  I want to find out more about
them, but I really don't have anything about my dad's side past his parents.
His name was James Willard YEARGIN.  He had 1 brother, William Benjamin and
2 sisters, Francis and Jo Ann.  His sisters, my aunts are still alive but
living so far away kind of makes it difficult to communicate much more than
the the I love yous on holidays (we have been lucky enough to see them and
siblings a couple of times since living in Hawaii, but we spend all our time
catching up on the present time, don't have time to ask about the past).
James Willard YEARGIN's parents were Pascal Isaiah YEARGIN and Elizabeth
BRIDLE.  I can tell you a couple of his brothers played professional
baseball, and my dad played in the mill league in Taylors and Greer.

Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated!  YEARGIN is such an
uncommon common name, about the only information I have found on the
Internet was about one of my great uncles baseball stats on the CNN/SI site!
I would also love to know the origin of YEARGIN too.
