Subject: ALEXANDER, PeeDee area - also NICHOLS, POOL, COLLINS From: Larry Noah Date: October 18, 1998
I am seeking information on the father of a John ALEXANDER who
traveled from NC to SC with his mother Frances in the late 1700's into the
area that is now Bishopville, SC. This John was born abt 1775 in NC. The
possibility has arisen that he may be the son of William ALEXANDER of Anson
Co, NC. This William deeded some land to a Joshua NICHOLS in 1753 in Anson
Co, NC. The pension records in SC show an affidavit by John ALEXANDER that
a Martha POOL married a William NICHOLS abt 1783 in the house of John's
father. No mention of where the house was. The affidavit also states that
they were married by a Baptist minister named Lewis COLLINS. Any
information would be appreciated. Thank you.
