I hoping to locate any one of African American descent, with the surname 
DAVIS, who descend from slaves, who were from the Abbeville, Hard Labor 
Section.

I am a  descendant of a free Negro named JAMES DAVIS. His mother was 
white and father a slave. It is my mission to locate my slave ancestor and to 
learn of his life experience.
