I  am  a novice, but determined to be an accurate one. This has already
happened to me 5 times.
1) my errors and glad to get correction (with documentation)
2) a  researcher who had been misinformed & glad to get corrections with
documentation
3) a person who did not want to know, but wanted more names:  without
documentation all fits.
4) a person who paid a "researcher"  for the wrong information and would not
accept changes
5) a person who had done careful, documented research for several years, but
needed a stranger to verify (and probably adapt for the #4's)

The clue seems to be in sticking your neck out WITH documentation.
