The advertisements you are referring to in the emails are added automatically by the various servers that the messages flow through. I moved last fall from South Carolina to Colorado. Since the move I have been temporarily using free email services such as netzero.com, juno.com, and bluelight.com to send email. These free services add advertisements to all email sent through their servers. I can't stop that until I get resettled and signup with a paid Internet Service Provider again. Also, the Rootsweb email servers add advertisements to all the Forum email. I have the power to turn those off, but I choose not to because Rootsweb needs the revenue they get from these advertisements. Since Rootsweb provides us with this free service, I choose to help them make some money to pay the bills. To be considered Spam an email message has to be "unsolicited" email. The Forum email is solicited by each subscribe by the act of subscribing. Therefore, Forum email cannot be considered as Spam email. Each subscriber has the power to stop the messages by unsubscribing. Steven J.
