THANK YOU for the article on Copyrights. The question has occurred to me
concerning in my research. Example: My late mother's cousin was a poet and
lyricist. I have a copy of sheet music she gave to my mother long ago. Its
copyright was in 1922. In this particular case, her daughter gave me
permission to reprint the sheet music; so I am feeling okay about it. The dau
also sent me a copy of the (expired) copyright.
Another question that has come up (I haven't finished reading your
information yet; so you may already have answered this one): I have portraits
From the 1940s and '50s, in studio folders. I assume that no portrait studio
is looking in genealogy books for subjects for their lawyers - Will read
your information more fully now, and may even go to a library!
Thanks again for sending this material. Norma
