I have searched wide & far for the location of Catherine Oakley,
GGGrandmother in 1850. I have posted this before awhile back but thought I
would try again.

The 1850 Saluda Regiment census of Abbeville Cty list :

# 1521 Moses Ashley 49  w Elizabeth
# 1522 James W Hawkins 65 wife Polly
# 1523 Catherine Oakley 54, widow & children
# 1524 Reuben Clinkscales 25 w Isabell
# 1525 John Clinkscales 70 w Polly

I can't find where Catherine & family lived. Since there are no land records
for her I thought I might try a different way. 2 boys age 11 & 14 attended
school that year, does anyone know of schools in Abbeville Cty around Little
River area???

I found records of:
a John Clinkscales living in Starr, SC d Feb. 1858
Reuben Clinkscales son of John & Mary lived in Storeville, SC

Are these the same as above ??? In 1850 did they live in Starr & Storeville
??
