Died, on Thursday last, on Charleston neck, Mrs. Ann Du Bois, after a long and
painful illness, which she bore with christian fortitude, and resignation to her
Maker -- aged 69 years.

Died, at Newport, (R. I.) on the 30th ultimo, (to which place he had gone for
the benefit of his health) in the 44th year of his age, GEORGE PADDON READ, Esq.
of Savannah.

          CINCINNATI.

At a meeting of the CINCINNATI of the state of South Carolina, held on the 27th
of Sept. 1805.

Resolved, That this Society do wear military mourning for two months, as a mark
of respect to the memory of our late venerable President, Major General
MOULTRIE.

Resolved, That the Vice-President do request the Rev. Dr. HOLLINSHEAD, to
deliver a Funeral Sermon on the death of the late President of this Society,
Major General MOULTRIE ; at such time and place as will be most suitable to him
- and that the Revolution Society, the Clergy of the city, the civil and militia
Officers, and such other of their Fellow Citizens, as are desirous of paying a
respect to their late virtuous and patriotic General, be invited to go in
procession with them, to hear the same.

Resolved, That the Governor and his Suite, and Judge Heyward, be requested to
join the procession of the Cincinnati on the above occasion.

Resolved, That this Society have a grateful sense of the attention shewn by
Colonel Wilkie, commandant of the militia, and by the officers and men of the
several corps, for the respect paid by them in attending the funeral of the late
General MOULTRIE.

Resolved, That as soon as the Rev. Dr. Hollinshead shall have fixed on the time
and place for the delivery of said Sermon, that the secretary do give the proper
notices and invitations to the persons referred to in the former resolutions.

the United States Gun-Boat No. I. are invited to attend his funeral, at 4
o'clock This Evening, from Fitzsimons's Wharf.

                     NASSAU, (N. P.) August 30.
Capt. King, in the brig Jolly Robin, 10 days from Turks-Island, with salt, bound
to Providence, R. I. informs, that on the 24th inst. he was boarded, in lat. 24.
30. long. 73. 20. from a French privateer schooner of 6 guns and 50 men - The
privateer had captured off Charleston Bar, an American (but under what pretence
we could not learn) Guineaman, capt. Ives, with 343 prime slaves - capt. Ives
was on board the privateer. The privateer intended to keep company with her
prize, but had parted in a gale on the 22d inst. They had, it was supposed,
ordered the Montezuma for Porto Rico.
