Subject: 1910 SC Census/Soundex lookup From: COACH CAL E CAMPBELL Date: July 23, 1998 -- [ From: Cal Campbell * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] -- Would anyone be able to do a census lookup for me in the 1910 SC Census? I am searching for the family of John J Campbell. They lived in the corner of Darlington County where Kershaw, Chesterfield and Lee Counties all join together. Therefore, I am not sure of which county. When he died, he was buried in Zion Cemetery in Lamar. He died on 20 Jun 1911. According to a Mr Henry Amerson, who recently died at the age of 94 in Timmonsville, who attended John's funeral, John died as a result of injuries due to a fall from a chair while trying to adjust the light or lamp over the kitchen table. Living with John Campbell should be his wife, Synthia, age 52, daughter Mary Geneva Campbell, age 20, and a son John Ellis Campbell. Then again , the household may be in the name of his son as Ellis J or Ellis Campbell, JE or EJ. I looked in the soundex only for 2 minutes under John J Campbell, but did not look under Camel, Cambell, Campell, or any other possibility of spelling. They are "not" listed with one of his daughters, Anna, married to Sam Albert Jackson. I have not looked with the other daughter. Mary Geneva had a child in 1911, so she could be married to William Riley Newell. I have not checked that out either. They might also be living with the husband of one of their daughters that died in 1906, A. Wiley Watford. I have not checked that. . Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
