Subject: 1860-1900; Charleston, Orphan House From: Jan & Gary Dunham Date: March 16, 1998 I have some pages I copied from the History and Records of the Charleston Orphan House 1790-1860 by Susan L. King. My names of interest were: Donnom/Dunham, Erwin/Ervin/Irwin, Holland, Canady/Kennedy, Miller, Singletary. I have quite a few pages copied (the names were pretty much in alphabetical order by terms/years). There were quite a few Kennedy names listed. This is a good book in that it explains the relationship (if known) of the child to the person who admitted them - as well as the child's death date / cause ... or if they were indentured to someone - who that someone was, how long indentured and if a trade was to be learned.
