Know all men by these presents that I Whitley Coker Senr. in the State & Dist.
aforesaid in consideration of one hundred & fifty dollars to me in hand paid by
Philip Coker of Sumter District in the State aforesaid, have granted, bargained,
sold & released and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, and release unto
the said Philip Coker all that land lying on the S.W. side of Duglss Swamp it
part of three tracts of land one originally granted to Sarah Edwards, secondly
another originally granted to Robert Hutchinson, & thirdly another originally
granted to Sutton Byrd it being part of three tracts of land conveyed by Needham
Lee to the sd Whitly Coker Senr. and from the said Whitly Coker to Phillip
Coker, begining in the middle of Dugless Swamp at a ford known by the name of
Jesse Floyds ford & runing the middle of sd swamp up to Sutton Byrds land then
including all the land lying on the S.W. side of sd swamp it being one hundred
acres more or less binding on John Byrds land on Jesse Floyds land & Henry Coker
land which will more fully appear in a delineated plats.  Together with all and
singular the rights, members hereditaments and appertanances to the said
premises belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining.  To have and to hold
all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the sd Phillip Coker, his
heirs, and assigns forever. And I do hereby bind myself my heirs and executors
and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said
premises unto the said Philip coker, his heirs, and assigns, against myself my
heirs, execrs, and administrators, and assigns and against all and every other
person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or pretending to claim any part
thereoff. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty
seventh day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & nine
and in the thirty third year of the Independency of the United States of North

Personally appeared before me Stephen Floyd & sayeth on oath that he was
personally present & saw Whitly Coker Senr. make his mark to the within
instrument of writing for the use & purposes within mentioned & that he was also
present & saw William Sisson & Mary Floyd both make each of their marks as
witnesses with himself at the same time ~ Sworn to before me March 3rd. 1810.
