Subject: 1790 SC federal census lookups From: Thekirbytree Date: February 28, 2000 I recently acquired the 1790 SC census and will do lookups. One surname per letter. If all you have is a surname then send the county name. If it is likely a very uncommon name then maybe I can check for the surname for the state. I just don't want to get "all the Smiths in SC in 1790". :) Send the request for a look up to : Lookuplady@aolcom. Do not send the requests to [email protected] The index in back is by name. I go to the name and it gives me the page in the book. for the county, I go to the page and there on that page will be the county census. Usually more than one page per county. This is a good chance to locate the county your ancestor lived in for the year 1790. The census age categories are:1] Free white males 16 and above; 2] Free white males under 16; 3] Free white females; 4]all other free persons; and 5] slaves. 0-0-0-0-0 format. Happy hunting all!
