Steven,

Was a SC port listed anywhere with this information? I think I came
across a find with the BEARDs listed in this information. My BEARDs
where in the Chas Dist area (Chas., and Colleton Co). This seems a
likely place to look for a connection. My last BEARD found was Barnwell
Preston BEARD born in 1831. He had a daughter named Martha (hoping for a
connection). I suppose my next step is to find more on the Ship, such as
port of entry.

Re: 1768 Chichester Ship from Belfast.

The Clerk of Council (SC) had been aboard the ship CHICHESTER, William
Reed,
Master, from Belfast. He gave the 'oaths to such of the poor Protestants
as were
of age who lately arrived in her in this province on the encouragement
of the
Bounty give by the Act of the General Asembly Passed the 25th July 1761
agreeable to the following list Viz'.

Tuesday 5 January 1768:

Thomas Beard 25
Nancy Beard 24
Mary Beard 4
Martha Beard 3
