Death Claims Mrs. Setser
Widow of Macon Man Dies in Waynesville; Services Held Here
Mrs. Leanor Setser, widow of Augustus (C. A.) Setser, of this county, died last Thrusday in Waynesveille at the age of 75. She had been ill for the past four weeks.
Services for Mrs. Setser, who was a native of Jackson County, were conducted at the First Baptist Church here Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock by the Rev. M. W. Chapman and the Rev. M. W. chapman and the Rev. A. Rufus Morgan. Burial was in Macon County, North Carolina - Woodlawn Cemtery.
Born August 10, 1879, Mrs. Setser was the daughter of J. R. and Mrs. Harriett McKay. She was twice married, first in 1898 to John N. Seay of Swain County, who died in 1914, and then in 1916 to Mr. Setser, who died in 1946. Mrs. Setser was a member of the First Baptist Chruch and for the past several months had been living with a daughter, Miss Helen Seay, in Waynesville.
In addition to Miss Seay, survivors include two other daughters, Mrs. Derald Ashe, of Franklin, and Mrs. Minne Robinson of Waynesville; a son, Paul Seay, of West Union, S. C.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Eleanora Morrison and Mrs. Shives, both of Luebo, Belgium Congo, Africa, and Mrs. Gerda McCloed of Rowland; two step-sons, Robert Setser, of Cary, and Claude Setser, of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother Luther McKay of Hazelwood; two half-brothers, Jess McKay, of Cleveland, Tenn., and Wade McKay, of Great Falls, Mont.; a sister, Mrs. O. C. Mastin, of Weedowee, Ala.; four half-sisters, Mrs Lester McNamara, of Newton, Mrs. William Abrams, of Newton, Mrs. Amber Ensley, of Glen Burnie, Md., and Mrs. Emma Sigman, of Dallas, Tex.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Harry Higgins, Quince Hauser, Tom Henson, J. Harry Thomas, Bill Bryant, and Paul West.
Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Parents: J. R. MCKAY and Harriett UNKNOWN.
