| NOTE: |
From June 17, 1881 through December 31, 1881 period
the record was copied verbatim from diaries kept by John jay Johns
of St. Charles, Missouri. This will be continued through December
1882 in order to give the story of the life as recorded by him.
This covers a long period of time and much detail but it gives
the reader the story of those days and also might show that there
are many changes for the better although human nature has never
changed. There are better facilites for living now, medical advance
has been rapid and fewer lives are lost because of that. The farmer
still has his troubles with the weather and getting his crops
out!!! |
