Here I plan to put various notes made by the Collectors.
The "black book" refers to a small loose leaf book (shown on
the intro page) which contains typewritten copies of letters,
most of which are not present in the original, plus various
notes and transcriptions and summaries of the information they
collected. In addition, I plan to post their working notes
as I get to them. I am putting the letters contained in
"The Black Book" in the Letters section.
Many of these were letters which the Collectors seem to have
had temporarily & sent the originals back.

Lindsay, Glenday & Durfee Families
These families are relatives of Jane Amanda Durfee, wife of John
Jay Johns. For some reason, they tend to get clumped together,
perhaps because, with the exception of Anne Glenday Durfee's letters,
there isn't really a large body of information about any one of
them.
