General view of Long's Cemetery General view of Long's Cemetery. It is located on high ground near the Susquehanna River. The nearby roadway, PA 147, is lined with trees as it rises from river level. This ground originally held a Lutheran church, but all traces of the building have disappeared.

[DI182] Death date is listed as March 6th on tombstone.

[XI182] Per Egle, buried at Long's Church, which was a Lutheran church as of 1896: "Here are buried some of the very early settlers of Powell's Valley, who left the Scotch-Irish and German settlements across Peter's Mountain prior to this century."

Long's Church is now simply Long's Cemetery, with no associated church. The cemetery is in remarkably good condition, given its age.

[DI183] Surmised from John Nace's second marriage date and wording of family bible entry.

[DI568] Mamam's Notebook cites family record which lists date of death as "March 1839."
