My BRAUN, PFEIFER, THOMAS and ZACH families settled in the St. Mary's community and Humphrey, Platte County, Nebraska.  Some migrated from other parts of the U.S., others immigrated directly to Nebraska.  Later, several familes from Platte County migrated to Roberts County in South Dakota.  Some of the surnames with Platte County ties are BRAUN, BROCKHAUS, FEHRINGER, GERMAN, THOMAS, WIESER and ZACH.  My maternal grandparents were Adolph THOMAS and Julia Mary nee ZACH.  Two of my grandfather's brothers and one of my grandmother's brothers moved to Rosholt in Roberts County.  They, as well as many of my cousins, are buried in the St. Nicholas cemetery.  In April 2007 I visited the cemetery and photographed many of the tombstones.  There are a few stones I did not get to, but these pages contain a good share of the tombstones located in the cemetery.  --
