Stanislaus KANTOR and (1) Victoria CIOCHON \ CHOCHON, (2) Rose CZARNIK

My granduncle, Frank KUDRON -- brother of my grandmother, Martha KUDRON GALUS -- married Rose Helen CZARNIK, daughter of Peter CZARNIK and Mary JARECKI, on 11 February 1924 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church at Krakow, Nance County, Nebraska.  Frank died on 2 January 1928 at the age of 27, leaving Rose and their 3 1/2-year-old daughter, Valeria.

On 17 November 1930 Rose married widower Stanley KANTOR in Columbus, Platte County, Nebraska.  He was first married to Victoria \ Pauline CIOCHON \ CHOCHON, daughter of Charles CHOCHON and Eva nee RODAK.  Victoria \ Pauline died 21 Feb 1923 in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, leaving her husband and a 2-year-old son Joseph. 

Victoria \ Pauline had a half-sister Mary nee MARFICA \ MARCHWICA, who married John STANEK.  Stanley KANTOR was enumerated with the STANEKs in the 1920 and 1930 censuses.  See STANEK

In the 1920 census a Stanley KANTOR was a boarder, living with the STANEK family in South Omaha.  Also living with them were John STANEK's mother-in-law Eva RODAK MARCHWICA CIECHON, and Mary's half sister Victoria.

Stanley KANTOR married Victoria \ Pauline CHOCHON sometime after the 1920 census.  Their son Joseph KANTOR was born 19 March 1921.  Stanley and Victoria also had a daughter, Clara, who was born late 1922.  8-week-old Clara died 18 February 1923 from diphtheria.  Her mother Victoria died a few days later on 21 February 1923, also from diphtheria.

Diphtheria Fatal To Mother And Her Baby
     Mrs. Victoria Kantor, 21 years old, died of diphtheria yesterday at her home at 4106 South Thirty-sixth avenue.  Mrs. Kantor's 8-weeks-old child, Clara, died Sunday of diphtheria and was buried Monday.  A son, Joseph, 2-years old, is ill at home, but will recover.  Shortly before her death, Mrs. Kantor was told of the death of her child.

KANTOR - Victoria, 21 years old, 4106 South Thirty-sixth avenue, Wednesday morning after a short illness.  She is survived by her husband, Stanley; one son, Joseph, and her mother, Eva Chichon; two sisters, Katherine and Sophia; two brothers, Leo and Carl.
Funeral Thursday at 1:45 p.m. from Heafey and Heafey chapel, South Side, to St. Francis church at 2 p.m.  Interment St. Mary Magdalene cemetery.
 
In 1930 Stanley and his son Joseph were enumerated with John and Mary STANEK.  Also enumerated with the STANEKs was, Eva CHOCHON -- Mary's mother and Stanley's mother-in-law.

Succumbs to Illness -- Frank C. Kudron, 1810 Twelfth street, Burlington track department employee, died at St. Mary's hospital yesterday of typhoid pneumonia.  He was taken ill a month ago and had been at the hospital the past two weeks.  Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock this morning at St. Anthony's church, Rev. Fr. Sigismund, officiating, and burial was made in the Catholic cemetery.  He was born in Poland, June 20, 1901, and came to America with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kudron in 1907.  On Feb. 11, 1924, he married Miss Rose Czarnek, at Krakow.  He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Valoria (sic).  He also leaves his parents, two brothers and three sisters, Andrew, of Sioux City, John, of Genoa, Mrs. Stanley [Martha] Galus of Monroe, Mrs. Joseph [Katherine] Spes of Clearwater, and Mrs. Charles [Anna] Tragarz of Shelby.  The pallbearers were:  Charles Kula, John Boro, John Podgurski, Jake Armatis, Martin Shotkoski and C. Kula.

TRAGARZ--Anna Tragarz, 73, 2157 - 18th Street, Columbus, died at her home Monday following a lingering illness of several years.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Bonaventure Church, Rev. Kieran Kemner officiating with burial in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
She will lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home and there will be a scripture service at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born to Thomas and Ursula Kudron on May 11, 1905 in Pilzno, Poland, she attended school at St. Peter and Paul, Krakow and married Charles Tragarz at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on February 14, 1922.  They lived in Polk County until moving to Columbus in 1952 where they retired.
She is survived by a son, Edward, and daughter Mrs. Albert (Mae) Alt, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Kenneth Alt, Denver, Mrs. Doug (Patty) Barrett, Casper, Wyo., Margaret, Jerry, Tom, Jean and Cheryl Alt, all of Columbus; a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Alt, Denver, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers; two sisters.

STUPFEL--Mrs. John Stupfel died Friday at 9 p.m., of lung trouble, her age 41 years. The funeral services were held at the Catholic church Sunday, 2 p.m., burial in the Catholic cemetery. She was born in Poland, came to Nebraska in 1879, and to Columbus in 1897. Her first husband's name was A. Meczek; six of their children survive. She was married to Mr. Stupfel in 1895, one of their children surviving. The bereaved family have the tender sympathy of friends in their sore affliction.

Ludwik aka William KUSH and Margaret nee BOGUS

Ludwik Kush was a native of Poland where he married Margaret Bogus*.  They immigrated to America and established a home near Petersburg, Nebraska.  Later they move to the Genoa area where some family members resided.  They became members of Ss. Peter and Paul at Krakow.  Ludwik and Margaret were parents of seven children:  Kathryn, Agnes, Joseph, Frank, John, Tom and Sophie.

Ludwik passed away at the age of 85 years. His wife, Margaret, died about 25 years prior to that time.
