As of February 2010 I have found all but Peter SZYMCZYK located in Nebraska.

In Polish the surname BAK is spelled BĄK and is pronounced kind of like BONK.  I have not located Frank and Anna BAK and their daughter in the 1885 Nebraska State census.  However, I did find a Frank BONK enumerated in Platte County in 1900.

1900 U.S. census, Nebraska, Platte County, Loup Township, ED 157, sheet 9B, 20 June 1900

According to this census listing, Frank and Agatha were married about 1890.  Book 4, page 16, of the Platte County Marriages has this entry:

The name STAVAS looks like a phonetic spelling of the Polish surname STAWARZ (pronounced sta-vash). There is no letter 'V' in the Polish language. The letter 'W' sounds like a 'V'.

In the immigration information at Ancestry.com I found the following family, which may be that of Joseph STAVAS.  The second pages of this manifest were not online, which in this case would have named who and where they were going to be with.

Baltimore Passenger List
SS Barcelona, sailing from Hamburg, 16 May 1914, (second page is not online) arrived at Baltimore June 1914
Line 9 Stawosz, Zofia, age 30, wife, citizen of Austria, Polish, last residence, Austria Machowa (maybe), nearest relative father and grandfather Jan Platzac (?) (I'm sure about the Pla...), Machowa (Nadowa ??)

BORO, BARO

Józef / Joseph BARO / BORO and Marianna nee CZUBA

According to the biography of Joseph and Katherine CZUBA BORO in the Ss. Peter and Paul Church (Krakow, Nance County, Nebraska) centennial book, Joseph and Marianna immigrated to the United States in 1882.  The biography says that Joseph was born in 1843 in Machowa, Poland and that Katherine, of Zajanskowic, Poland, was born in 1854.

While transcribing records from the LDS microfilm 2006734 for the Pilzno, Poland, Parish, I came across the marriage record of Józef (Joseph) BARO and Catharina  nee CZUBA.

Marriage record, LDS microfilm 2006734, item 9, page 143
Village of Zajaczkowice, Parish of Pilzno, Galicia, Poland
7 November 1871
Groom:  Jozef Baro, cmetho, son of Stanislaus Baro and Agatha Mozgowiec, house 20 in Leki
Catholic, age 23 (abt 1848), single
Bride:  Catharina, daughter of Joannes Czuba and Marianna Sztorc, living in Zajaczkowice, house 4 in Zajaczkowice ad Leki
Catholic, age 16 (abt 1855), single
Witnesses: Petrus Sztorc, Andreas Czuba

This record indicates that Joseph was from Leki (Łęki), a son of Stanislaus BARO and Agatha MOZGOWIEC.  Catharina was a daughter of Joannes (Jan) CZUBA and Marianna nee SZTORC of Zajaczkowice (Zajączkowice, pronounced Zī-onch-kō-veets-eh, accent on veets).  Marianna was a daughter of  Valentinus STORC / SZTORC and Magdalena nee SWIERCZEK.  I have strong suspicions that Valentinus is my great great granduncle, but I have not made a firm link  yet.

The Ss. Peter and Paul biography named five sons and two daughters born to Joseph and Katherine:  Michael, John, Charles, Frank, Joseph, Anna and Veronica.

Joseph amd Katherine are both buried in the Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery:
