Wm. Steiner United in Holy Bonds of Matrimony

Another one of Creston's worthy young men and an ex-soldier of the United States was united in marriage.

Wm. Steiner and Miss Erna Thomas took the sacred vows of matrimony at the altar of the St. Francis Catholic church in Humphrey at 9 o'clock in the forenoon on Tuesday, November 11, 1919. Rev. Andrew reading the holy rites which made them man and wife.

The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Steiner and of a family of excellent characteristics. Mr. Steiner as acquired his share of sterling worth and is an ambitious and kind hearted young man.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thomas residing on a farm south west of Creston and is a young lady posessing all the qualities necessary toward making a home bright and cheerful.

The attending parties at the altar were Miss Margaret Thomas and Miss Martha Steiner as brides' maids and Raymond Thomas and Rudolph Steiner as groom's men. The double ring ceremony was used.

The bride was attired in a becoming gown of white crepe de chine over lace and wore a floral veil. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. The groom wore a suit of fine blue serge.

Immediately after the ceremony the contracting parties, relatives and friends were conveyed to the home of the bride's parents where a very elaborate wedding dinner was spread.

After the feast a large number of useful and appropriate gifts were received by Mr. and Mrs. Steiner, and the afternoon was happily spent in conversation and a good time. The evening hours brought more festivities of the occasion when a dance ensued, after which the guests departed wishing again the bride and groom many years of happiness and prosperity.

This fall Mr. and Mrs. Steiner expect to begin house keeping on the Chas. Jacobs farm south west of Creston where the best wishes of their many friends will follow them.
