March 27, 1887 - July 23, 1971
JESUS, MARY, JOSEPH, FRANCIS
This afternoon at 4:24, our beloved Sister in Christ, Sister M. Lucella,
Josepha Zach, died peacefully at St. Francis Hospital, Colorado
Springs, Colorado. Sister was born in St. Mary's, Nebraska, on March
27, 1887. She entered our Community on April 10, 1913, and was clothed
in the religious habit on December 30, 1913.
Sister Lucella dedicated her religious life to God by performing
domestic work, both in the kitchen and sewing room, in a number of
school convents and institutions in both Provinces. Sister went about
her duties serenely and devotedly. Her last assignment before coming to
the Motherhouse in April, 1968, was at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln.
[Nebraska] Here at the Motherhouse, Sister assisted in the kitchen
until on Wednesday of this week when she was hospitalized due to a
severe chest cold. The cause of her death was acute congested heart
failure.
Sister is survived by two nieces, members of our Community, Sister
Martinia and Sister Juliann. Sister Martinia was at Sister's bedside at
the time of her death. Sister Romana, a cousin, and several other
distant relatives in our Community survive her. The deceased was
eighty-four years of age and a member of our Community for fifty-eight
years.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated for the repose of the
soul of the dear deceased on Tuesday, July 27, at ten o'clock.
Interment will take place in the Mount Saint Francis Cemetery. Let us
pray for the repose of her soul. May she rest in peace.
