In October 2014 my niece Jen and her husband Travis asked if I could
help research Travis' family history, beginning with the surnames
GERLECZ and COSTANTINO.
Travis' maternal grandfather was Alfred S. COSTANTINO. This is the
information I have found so far for Travis' Costantino family.

Rosario and his sister Giuseppa were listed as passengers on the S. S.
Roma that sailed from the Port of Naples about 31 May 1910 and arrived at the
Port of New York on 13 Jun 1910. They both said that they were born
in Carlentini, Italy, and named their father Sebastiano as their
nearest relative in Italy. They were going to be with a brother-in-law ____ COSTANTINI in Omaha, Nebraska.

The 1910 U.S. census was taken effective 15 Apr. Since they
arrived in New York in Jun 1910, Rosario and Giuseppa would not have
been enumerated in 1910.
There is an entry in the Omaha Area Marriages Index for a Giuseppa COSTANTINO, who may be Rosario's sister.
COSTANTINO, Giuseppa; 20; md. Giuseppe MORELLO; 22; Sep 1910 25794
Giuseppa's marriage record named her parents as Sebastiano COSTANTINO
and Lucia LATINO. Her husband Giuseppe MORELLO was a son of
Carmelo MORELLO and Carmela MANZITTO. They were married 14 Sep
1910 at St. Philomena Church in Omaha, Nebraska.
I have not found any other information about Giuseppa and her
husband. The English equivalent of Giuseppe is Joseph.
Giuseppa might have gone by Josephine or Josie. I have not
found Rosario in the 1920 U.S. census.
Rosario and Antonette nee CARROW married on 31 Oct 1928 at St. Philomena
Church in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska. The later
marriage records do not name the parents of the bride and groom.
Since they were married in 1928, they should be in the 1930 and 1940
U.S. censuses, but I have not found them in the 1930 census as
yet.
1930 and 1940 U.S. Census listings for Rosario and Antonette COSTANTINO.
I have not found Rosario and Antonette in the 1930 census.
The 1940 census shows that Rosario and Antonette were living at 28 Ave J
in East Omaha. They were the parents of four children.

For privacy reasons the U.S. censuses are not released for public
viewing until 72 years after the census was taken. The 1950 census
will not be released until 2022.
In 1917
and 1918 there were three World War I draft registrations. The 1st
was on 5 Jun 1917 for men ages 21-31. The 2nd was 5 Jun
1918 for men who turned 21 since the 1st registration. The 3rd started
12 Sep 1918 for men ages 18-45.
I found two Rosario COSTANTINOs in Omaha, Nebraska, who registered for
the World War I draft. One gave his date of birth as 29 May 1891,
born in Carlentini, Italy, his address was 1314 So. 4th. His
occupation was laborer for the City of Omaha. The other was born 9 Jun
1895, also in Carlentini, Sicily, Italy, his address was Poppleton (no
house number). His occupation was laborer for the American
Smelting Co. in Omaha. The Rosario born in 1891 is Travis'
grandfather. I do not know yet if the 1895 Rosario is related.
According
to an application for a Military Headstone, Rosario enlisted in the
U.S. Army 18 Sep 1917 and was discharged 22 Jan 1919. He was a
Private in 20th Co 164th Depot Brigade in the Medical Dept.
The Wikipedia article about the 152nd Depot Brigade (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/152nd_Depot_Brigade) listed the 164th Depot Brigade out of Camp Funston, Kansas.
The role of the Depot Brigades was to receive and organize
recruits, provide them with uniforms, equipment and initial military
training, and then send them to France to fight on the front lines. The
Depot Brigades also received soldiers returning home at the end of the
war and completed their out processing and discharges.
The Depot Brigades...were deactivated in the Spring
of 1919, after completing out processing and discharges for soldiers
returning home at the end of the war.
Rosario
died 24 Mar 1961 in Omaha. Antonette died 26 Sep 1945 in
Omaha. Both of them are buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Omaha.
