Jeremiah and Sarah Jane HOKE COPENHARVE are the 3rd great-grandparents of my COPENHARVE nieces and nephews. Jeremiah was a veteran of the Civil War, having enlisted in Pennsylvania. Jeremiah and Sarah moved to Nebraska City about 1878/79. Their children were: Martha (married Jacob WALBURN), Charles, Edward\Edwin, Harvey, Isaac, Maurice (Frank), William, Milton and Eugene. All of their children were born in Pennsylvania except Eugene. |

William J. and Ida GUENZEL COPENHARVE are the great great-grandparents of my COPENHARVE nieces and nephews. Wm and Ida were the parents of at least two children: Margaret and Edward Raymond. William was a son of Jeremiah and Sarah HOKE COPENHARVE. Ida was a daughter of Ernst and Emma OELKE GUENZEL. |

According to Maurice's obituary, he was
a twin brother of
William J. COPENHARVE (see above). Susie was a daughter of Gregory and
Margaret MILLAN\MILAN. Five surviving brothers are named in his obituary: Twin brother, William; I. J. COPENHARVE (both of Omaha); Harve (of Washington D.C.); Edward (of Minneapolis); Milton (of San Pedro, CA). Maurice was also survived by his wife Susan; three children, Eugene, Stanley and Ruth; and a granddaughter, Mary Jean. |

first wife of Edward Raymond COPENHARVE. William's obituary named two surviving siblings: Harry Chapin of Wewela, S.D. and Mrs Laura Ritterbush of Mission, S.D. Surviving children were: one son Udell Lee Chapin; five daughters Echo and Phyllis Chapin; Mrs. Lawrence McMahon, Mrs. Raymond Copenharve, Mrs Joseph Bertich all of Omaha. |

William was the only child of Edward Raymond and Marie CHAPIN COPENHARVE. He is the grandfather of my COPENHARVE nephews and nieces. |
I visited the Catholic Cemetery office to find the location of William E. COPENHARVE's gravesite at St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. The woman who looked up the information also found a Baby William COPENHARVE buried in another section of St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. Baby William COPENHARVE died 28 Feb 1951. I was unable to locate a stone for him. |

Eugene was a son of Maurice and Susie MILAN COPENHARVE. Eugene's mother Susie died 27 Mar 1952. Since Eugene was listed as a surviving son in Susie's obituary, his death would have occurred later in 1952. |
