SANDLIER

LeRoy A. Sandlier, 72, of Franklinville [New Jersey] died Sunday at home.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a lifelong resident of Franklin Township.

He had worked for more than 50 years as a plumber before retiring in 1966. For 2 1/2 years prior to his retirement, Mr. Sandlier worked for Powell's Plumbing and Heating in Barnsboro.

Mr. Sandlier was an active member of many local veterans and camping organizations. He was past Commander of Shaw Paulin American Legion Post No. 241 of Glassboro and was a member of the Grochowski Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2071 of Franklinville. He served in the Army during World War II.

He belonged to Glassboro Lodge No. 85 Free and accepted Masons, Glassboro Chapter No. 234 Order of the Eastern Star and the Excelsior Consistory of Collingswood. Mr. Sandlier was master of travel for NCT Chapter 8 Rainmakers Camping Club, a Masonic group, and was treasurer of Good Sam Camping Club Rolling Sams of Salem County.

He belonged to Porchtown Zion Methodist Church in Franklinville.

Surviving are his wife, Eleanor S.; a son, Bruce of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Barbara Banes of Ocean Springs, Miss., Dianna Kreutzer of Mays Landing and Dale Lang of Navarre, Fla.; a sister, Faye Thompson of Vian, Okla.; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Porchtown Zion Methodist Church, Porchtown Road, Franklinville.

Arrangements were made by the Mathis Funeral Home, Glassboro.
