Levi F. Brownback

At the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hannah L. Fry, at Pughtown, last evening. Levi F. Brownback, formerly of West Vincent, died in the 83d year of his age. He had been ill since February last, and had been failing rapidly since leaving his home farm in West Vincent, on April 1st last.

He was born in West Vincent, the son of William and Frances Brownback, and had been a farmer, retiring about eight years ago, but continuing active until two years ago. His wife, who was formerly Priscilla Murray, died about eight years ago.

He is survived by six daughters: Mrs. Galena Leininger, of Uwchlan; Mrs. Charles Hughes, of West Chester; Mrs Mary Ellen Waade, of Spring City; Mrs. Hannah L. Fry, Pughtown; Mrs. Amos Fulmer, of Chester Springs and Mrs. Lida Keir, of Santa Clara, Calif. A son died twenty-five years ago, and a daughter, ten years ago. There are [a] number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. A brother, Dr. Orlando Brownback, lives in Pendleton, Ind. J. B. Mosteller, of West Chester, is a nephew.

He was a member and former officer of St. Matthew's Reformed Church.


BROWNBACK -- In Pughtown, Chester county, on June 6, Levi J. Brownback, aged 82 years, 7 months and 21 days.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral without further notice from his late residence in Pughtown, on Thursday, June 10. All services at the home at 1 o'clock, standard time. Interment in St. Matthew's Reformed Cemetery. Friends may take bus leaving West Chester at 11:55 to Pughtown, also leaving Pottstown at 11:10 for Pughtown. Please omit flowers.


Relationship:
Levi F. Brownback is a first cousin three times removed of Bruce. Levi's father, William Brownback, was a brother of Bruce's GG Grandfather Jesse Brownback. Fellow researcher, Brenda Jackson, is Levi's GG Granddaughter.
