Another family blessed with good age are the children of John and Margaret Brownback, who live in West Vincent township, and whose remains are now resting in the cemetery at Brownback's church, in East Coventry township. There are still six children living, two brothers and four sisters, and the following are their names and ages: Sarah Emery, widow of Henry Emery, 88 yrs; Hannah Ralston, widow of George Ralston, 81 yrs.; Catherine Kimes, wife of Samuel Kimes, 79 yrs.; Rebecca Stauffer, widow of Samuel Stauffer, 76 yrs; William Brownback, of Vincent, 74 yrs.; Jesse Brownback, of East Vincent, 72 yrs.; total 464 yrs.; average, 77 1/2 yrs. Of this family two brothers and two sisters are sleeping in death. John Brownback died a few years ago at an advanced age and was buried at St. Matthew's church. Elizabeth Christman, widow of George Christman, died at the age of about 80 years, and her remains are resting in the cemetery at Zion church. Mary Emery, wife of William Emery, died young, and she was buried at the Pikeland church. Henry Brownback died Sep. 6th, 1827; aged 36 yrs., 7 mos. and 15 days, and his remains are resting beside his father's and mother's at Brownback's church. This family all lived within a few miles of each other, and those that are living are active and enjoy reasonable health. There are 37 cousins living -- 19 boys and 18 girls.

John and Margaret (Defrain) BROWNBACK are Bruce's GGG Grandparents. Their son Jesse is Bruce's GG Grandfather.
