John Doolittle was born in New Haven, Connecticut on June 14, 1655, and baptized there April 24, 1657 by Rev. John Davenport, the founder of New Haven colony. On February 13, 1682, he married Mary Peck in Wallingford. Mary was the daughter of John & Mary (Moss) Peck and was born in New Haven on March 4, 1666. When Mary died on September 1, 1710, John took as his second wife, Grace Ventrus. Grace was the daughter of Moses Ventrus and widow of John Blakeslee. John died in Wallingford on September 28, 1746.
