The BEHLINGS emigrated from Pommerania, Prussia (now part of Poland) in 1857 to Wisconsin. Once in this country, one generation married into a family which had emigrated in the not too distant past from France and another generation married Irish immigrants. As this is my own surname, I'm always interested in hearing from others who share this name. Read the Dedication page to my mother, Dorothy Williams. She served in the Marine Corps during WWII and later went to work for the United Nations in Shanghai, China. Read the Tribute to my Parents, WWII Veterans Letters From China were written by my mother during her service with the United Nations shortly after WWII. Many amusing anecdotes. |
