He always had a open place at the table, and the greeting when you went to vist was have you eaten? get you something to drink a beer coffee , pop. He always had a new joke or story to tell each time you seen him, oh yea don't forget his pride and joy. "have you seen my pride and joy?" then out of his billfold would come this picture of a can of PRIDE and a bottle of JOY soap, his pride and joy, The first time he pulled that one on me I thought he had a new grandchild or something, boy did I fall for that like everone else he pulled it on. Mary and I visted Marvin on the day before his birthday, he told Mary about Bob's tough luck raising chickens, so Bob called the county ext. service to see what was wrong, they told him he was planting them too deep and too far apart, Mary took it hook, line and sinker while everyelse who had heard it keep a concerned face, then you should have seen her. This is just a little sample of Marvin, at his services a number of people said "I just lost the best buddy I ever had, with tears in their eyes."
