General Notes: On 9 May 1856 Mary Ann gave birth to a son she named James Irdel Gallimore. Family tradition claims that the father was one Byrum, or Byron, Goad, a lawyer. The tradition also claims that Byrum offered to send James to law school. This offer was made when James was twelve; he declined the offer. On 14 Sep 1876 she married a widower by the name of John W. Semones. The sources for Mary Ann's family are Robert Benoist, whose wife was a Craft (a descendant of James Irdel), and the Carroll Co. records themselves. The records showed that Mary Ann's two children by John Semones had both died of diphtheria within 10 days of each other.
She didn't actually marry Byron Goad, but she did marry John Semones as stated.
