Died at his home near Prairie Point, January 13, 1892, Mr. John WINGO, in his 72d year.

Mr. John WINGO was born in Tazewell County, Western Virginia, January 13, 1820, and as seen above, died on his 72d birthday. When he was about 17 years of age he came to Boone County, MO, where he remained but a short time, coming to Platte County and locating near Prairie Point where he has since made his home. Soon after his arrival in Platte County he was married to Miss Malissa Jack, daughter of the venerable Thomas Jack, of Prairie Point. To this union there were born ten children who are now living as follows. Sid and John, both married, living on the home place. Benjamin now in Kansas City, Frank, near Smithville, Mrs. Ohalahan, Westport, Mrs. Miller, Armourdale, Mrs. Martin, near Prairie Point, Mrs. Soper, North Missouri and James H., near Platte City.

Mr. WINGO was an industrious, hard working man, respected by all who knew him. He was a member of the Christian Church for the last twenty years and he will be greatly missed by the members of that denomination. A large contingent of relatives and friends attended his remains to their last resting place in the Line Creek burying ground. He was an honest man and a good citizen.
