| Carter was the son of Robert Peake and Elizabeth Clark. I have heard that Carter's sister Anna Peake married Ephriam Dickens b. 1761 who had a brother Christopher whose daughter Elizabeth Lucy Dickens married Joseph Riggs. If anyone has information on the line of Elizabeth and Joseph Riggs, I'd appreciate any possible link to Elizabeth Riggs |  |

Also: Robert Peak, father of Carter had a sister Winifred (Winny) Peake who married Wm. Sutton. Their daughter Elizabeth (1802-1881) was said to have married her cousin John Hunter (1801-1876). Yet another report says that there was an Elizabeth Sutton who married Samuel Riggs b. 1796. I am trying to find more solid records on this couple. In 1795 the last recordance of Wm. Sutton is found, when he signs a marriage bond for Winifred's sister to marry John Fairth. He may have moved to Adair County, as there is a Wm. Sutton who was one of the builders of a court house there, in 1801. Any help with this possability would also be most welcomed. |
