Son Sidney Seymour Rockwell settled at Vermontville Township, Eaton Co., Michigan, where he died. An official Michigan State transcript of a death certificate [sent to me by Shirley Johnson] gives the following information:
- Born: 27 June 1833, New York
- Died: 30 July 1903, age 80 years, 2 months, 3 days, at Vermontville.
- Father: A. W. Rockwell, born in Mass.
- Mother: Lucy Ames, born in Mass.
- Occupation: Retired merchant
- Cause of death: Cancer of the h---[cut off]; hypertrofied heart by dilation (duration: 5 years)
- Place of burial: Woodlawn Cem., Aug. 2, 1903
An obituary for his widow appeared in a newspaper dated Dec. 29, 1915. Shirley Johnson sent me a copy, having found it at the Wisconsin Historical Society:

Death stilled a noble heart, quieted a charitable hand and terminated a creditable earthly career at five o'clock last Wednesday morning, when Mrs. Sidney S. Rockwell, aged 87 years, succumbed to an attack of pneumonia at her home on West Main Street. Although Mrs. Rockwell's illness virtually dates back over a period of twelve years, she having been an invalid that length of time, she was really seized with the ailment that led to her death two weeks ago. ...
