John Talcott Rockwell (1801-1881) of Ridgebury and Danbury [R158 in the 1st edition, R154 in the 2nd and 3rd editions]: further on his descendants

Son Daniel Benedict Rockwell lived at Ridgebury, Redding, Pound Ridge, and Danbury. His daughter Annaletta DeForest Rockwell (b. 1849) married Herbert Mead, scion of a family long-settled at Waccabuc Lake in Lewisboro, Westchester County. Their son Herbert Jr. had a daughter Clara. The Lewisboro Meads highly valued their heritage and hoarded family papers on various lines. Clara's papers are now lodged at the Westchester County Historical Society and contain numerous documents relating to the Rockwell family. An online finding aid to the Mead Collection is available and includes a helpful "biographical dictionary" and a names index. Among the records are a family Bible record for Daniel and Sarah (Chapman) Rockwell, See Doc. Case 102.8, Rockwell family papers, 1789-1986. Letters by Annaletta to her husband, children, and grandchild Clara are also in the collection, Doc. case 111.10.

Daniel's son George Frederick Rockwell was born in May or June of 1862, according to the Whitney genealogy (perhaps the best estimate that D. Williams Patterson had available), but Boughton said 19 May 1863. Perhaps he had close contact with a reliable source, given that Daniel B. Rockwell's sister Polly married a Boughton. George's marriage certificate is part of the Sarah Mead Papers [Bound Volume Manuscript 516]. He and Elizabeth Holly Clark were married at St. Andrews Stamford, 25 April 1905.
