Niram W. Rockwell (1799-1855) of Hancock, Vt., and Farnham, Quebec (R137 in 1st ed., R133 in 2nd ed.) Further details on his family and descendants

Niram died at Farnham in the Province of Quebec. Boughton said that his youngest two daughters, Diana E. and Alma J. Rockwell, were born at "East Farnham, Mass.," but this should surely have read "East Farnham, Quebec." There is a township of that name in Quebec, but not in Massachusetts. The latter does have a Farnham, but there seems little reason for the daughters to have born there! In fact, the two children of Alma and husband Orison P. Miles were both born in Canada. From Boughton's Rockwell-Keeler genealogy, p. 422:

Alice J. Miles, born Cowansville, Canada, 24 March 1861; married in August 1879, Michael Shatney; resided at Eden, Vt., in 1894.
Perry O. Miles, b. at Dunham, Quebec, 24 Oct. 1865; married 26 June 1893, Etta C. Brooks; resided at Eden, Vt., in 1894.
