George H. Fonner - 101st PA Inf Co A - Pvt-Sgt DOB 5-5-1820 DOD 9-4-1893. Sergeant, Co. C. Enlisted at age 27, a mechanic from Lawrence Co., PA. Mustered in November 6, 1861 as a Corporal. Re-enlisted. Captured April 20, 1864 at Plymouth, NC. Held captive at Andersonville, GA. Escaped from Andersonville. Paroled October 8, 1864. Discharged January 25, 1865.
