Samuel G. Dennis, Jr (Sam G) was b abt 1757 (a) in VA (b) and died abt 1820 (c) in Franklin Co., KY (d). He married Mary Yocum Jan 18, 1788 (f) in Mercer Co., Ky (g). Mary Yocum was born 1774 in probably NC (sna) she is the daughter of Mathias Yocum and ? Dixon (sna).

Note we are aware that there are two Jesse's. There has much debate over this which may never be resolved. We know that Sam Y and Jesse2 were partners in land deals. And that Thier mother is buried near Sam Y. The three biggest possibilities are 1) that there is another Dennis a brother perhaps that was married to a Mary Yocum also. 2) that there are two Mary Yocum that Sam married. and 3) that one of the Jesse was called Jesse eventhough it is his middle name.
