Estate Records
Lorentz Lingle - 1804
31 Mar 1804 - Lorentz Lingle, who left a will written in German in 1775 in Rowan Co, and died in 
1775.  His survivining children brought suit against the executors of his estate in 1804.  The 
suit was heard on 31 Mar 1804 in the Salisbury District Court of Law and Equity in Rowan County.  
Among the children of Lorentz Lingle listed in the suit were Catherine, wife of Peter Droutman, 
farmer of Cabarrus County; and Elizabeth, wife of Jacob Droudman, farmer of Rowan County.  
[This information was orinally found by Dr. John L. Schlenker in his book, The Schlenker Family 
in Lothringen, in Prussia, and in America, Volume II, p.131.  This author verified the 
information against the estate records at the Salisbury library.]

Henry Troutman - 1853.  George Troutman appointed administrator on 25 Aug 1853.  In 1855, 
                        Elizabeth, Solomon, James, Andrew, & Samuel Troutman, as next of kin 
                        of Henry Troutman, petitioned the court to sell a slave of Henry 
                        Troutman and partition the money.  Final settlement May 1858.

J.R. Troutman - estate sale 13 Aug 1887.  Heir Luther Troutman.

Jacob Troutman - 1861.
Heirs in final settlement [note that these are, per Jacob's will, the children of his brother's 
David and John Troutman, and the children of his sister, Sarah Earnhart.  They are listed 
with the surviving children of David Troutman (1808) in birth order listed first, then the 
surviving children of John Troutman (1801) in birth order, then the surviving children of 
Sarah (Troutman) Earnhart (c1810).  I forgot to get the date of the settlement, but it was

care for his wife, Polly.  If Lucy Almond died, estate to fall to children of brothers, 
John Troutman and David Troutman, and children of sister Sarah Earnhart.  Witness:  L.M. Long,

Independence and thus the beginning of the 18th year of Independence, just as 1 Jan 1900 was the 
first day of the 20th Century.]

16:137.  8 Apr 1797.  Adam (X) Troutman Sr. to his son Adam Troutman Jr. for L100, two tracts 
on Little Buffalo Creek: (1) 102 A on both sides of said creek adj Jacob Troutman and this 
Grantor, which John Lewis Beard conveyed to this Grantor; and (2) 23 A adj (1) and Jacob Freeze, 
Jacob Troutman, being a grant to this Grantor.  Wit:  Joseph Wooleman[?].  Acknowledged at 
May Court 1798.
