The five surviving children of Jacob Troutman (1788) and Christina Walcher.

From apparent ages, this picture was taken circa 1885. It must have been taken when John Absalom Troutman (1821) made a trip from his home in Stanly County, North Carolina out to Montomery County, Illinois to visit his brother and sisters. seated from left to right are John Absalom Troutman (1821) and Simeon P. Troutman (1822). Standing from left to right are Mary Ann "Polly" (Troutman) File Brockman (1819), Christina Rebecca (Troutman) Halderman (1828), and Sarah Mariah (Troutman) File Hill (1830). The only one I have been unable to find in the census records is Christina (1828). She married Jacob Halderman in 1852 in Montgomery County, Illinois. Possibly he died and she remarried, but I have not yet found her second marriage record. If indeed she is the woman in the middle, then Christina (1828) must have still been living circa 1885.
