Henry Troutman (c1782) was the son of Adam Troutman (1752) and Eve Kennert.

FOURTH GENERATION

1. Henry TROUTMAN was born about 1782 in , Burke, NC. He died before 1810 in , Lincoln, NC. He was married to Barbara CANCELLOR on 15 Feb 1802 in , Lincoln, NC. Lincoln Co, NC marriage bonds: Troutman, Henry to Cancellor, Barbara 15 Feb 1802

Little is known about Henry Troutman (c1782). His birth year is approximated from the fact he married in 1802. He was definitely one of the males under 16 in the household of his father, Adam Troutman (1752) in the 1790 Census of Burke Co, NC. He moved with his parents to Iredell Co, NC in the early 1790s, and after the death of his father in 1797, moved with his mother to Lincoln Co, NC (the part which later became Catawba Co, NC). Henry (c1782) was one of the buyers at the estate sale of his father in Iredell Co, NC in 1806.

Henry (c1782) and his wife, Barbara (Cancellor) Troutman, appear a couple times in Lincoln Co, NC court records:

NC Lincoln County Records

Court of Pleas & Quarters
Apr 1805. Henry Troutman vs. Daniel & Jacob Epply

Apr 1810. Deed Barbara Troutman to G. G. (George G.) Garding for 120 A
dated 12 Sep 1807. Proved by John Derr.

Barbara was not named as the wife of Henry Troutman (as was usual for married women at that time) in the 1807 deed, so perhaps Henry (c1782) had died by then. No further records on Henry can be found, and since he did not appear in the 1810 Census, it is assumed he had died by then. Henry (c1782) had no known children.

Almost nothing is known about Barbara (Cancellor) Troutman, wife of Henry (c1782). She may be the Barbara Troutman who married William Voils on 30 Oct 1810 in Cabarrus Co, NC, since no other Barbara Troutman is known to have existed in North Carolina at that time.
