Mathias Binber (?) (German signature). Recorded July term 1770.

[Note: The Mathias Binber(?) who signed in German was probably Mathias Barringer who was
married to John Bushart's daughter, Margaret Bushart. See notes on the German language
in Early North Carolina history.]

James Curry
Verdict for the plaintiff. Assess damages of 38.5.6 pounds.

sister of Jacob Bushart. It seems odd that Jacob Bushart would be allowed to be on the
jury in a case involving his brother-in-law.]

In 1853, Henry Bushart, Sr., payed taxes on 146 acres of land, which had belonged to his
father. That land was sold the next year in accordance with Jacob Bushart, Sr.'s will.
The tax record for 1854 lists Henry Bushart with no acreage, but it is unknown whether
this was Henry Bushart, Sr. or Henry Bushart, Jr. There is no tax record for Henry
Bushart in 1855. In 1856 and 1857, Henry Bushart is listed with no acreage; this is
almost certainly Henry Bushart, Jr., since Henry Bushart, Sr. had moved west to Missouri.
There is no record in 1858 for Henry Bushart, Jr. He died, probably in Henry County, on
8 Feb 1859.
