11 Mar 1764. Barbara Bushart, daughter of John Bushart born on Dutch Buffalo Creek, Mecklenburg, NC. [From the tombstone of Barbara Moose, in Bethel German Reformed Cemetery, now United Church of Christ, Stanly Co, NC.] 

24 Oct 1765. John Buzzard. 200 acres on a branch of Dutch Buffelow, above Fite Garrot's including an improvement he bought of George Hill. [North Carolina Land Warrants.]

17 Sep 1766. Jacob Bushart born. [Jacob Bushart Bible.]

22 Sep 1766. John Buzzard. 100 acres on both sides of Dutch Buffelow creek joining and between his own and Fite Garrot's line. [North Carolina Land Warrants.]

27 Sep 1766. George Tucker. 100 acres on the East fork of Buffelow Creek between John Buzzard's land and George Beringar's line. [North Carolina Land Warrants.]

3 Sep 1768. John Mitchell and wife Elizabeth of Salisbury to John Buzzard of Mecklenburg Co, NC, for 150 pounds procured money, 202 acres in Mecklenburg on both sides of Dutch Buffalo Creek adjacent Fite Gorright; also 177 acres adjacent above containing in the whole 379 acres being part of 12,500 acres sold to John Mitchell by James Pickett, Esqr. High Sheriff of Anson Co, NC, 10 Aug 1768. Witness: Samuel Patton, Mathias Binber (?) (German signature). Recorded July term 1770. [Mecklenburg Co, NC, Deed Book 5, p.124-5.] [Note: The Mathias Binber(?) who signed in German was probably Mathias Barringer who was married to John Bushart's daughter, Margaret Bushart.]

3 Sep 1768, John Mitchell and wife Elisabeth of Salisbury to Fight Gorright of Mecklenburg, for 35 pounds procured money, 144 acres on both sides of Dutch Buffalo Creek on Mathias Beaver's, John Buzzard's survey... 3 May 1774. Michael Barrier is deceased so George Henry Barger and John Barger qualify as administrators giving bond of 200 pounds with John Hoover and John Buzzard as security. [Rowan Co, NC, Will Books.]

October 1781. Ordered that the clerk make out a Certificate to John Buzzard and Andrew Rhinehart Requesting and Discharging all persons from plundering away any property from either of them as they are in suspense until the General assembly determine thereon & etc. [Mecklenburg Co, NC, Minutes of the Court of Common Pleas and Quarter Sessions, Book 1, p.306, October 1781 Session.]

2 June 1782. John Buzzard and wife Ann to John Berringer, for 180 pounds procured, 202 acres on both sides of Dutch Buffalo Creek adjacent Fight Gorright. Witnesses: Samuel Suther, John Leppard, and [in German]. Proved in October 1782 by Oath of Samuel Suther. Sam Martin, County Clerk. On back of this deed is a relinquishment of dower by Anna Buzzard taken before and certified 12 Oct 1782 by Daniel Jarret, Justice of the Peace. [Mecklenbug Co, NC, Deed Book 11, p.125]

October 1782. One [deed proved] from John Buzzard to John Berringer for 202 Acres of Land Dated 2 Jun 1782, [proved] by Samuel Suther. [Mecklenburg Co, NC, Minutes of the Court of Common Pleas and Quarter Sessions, Book 1, p.379, October 1782 Session.]

9 June 1785. John Barger and wife Anna to Frederick Beck, for 100 pounds procured, 101 acres on the south side of Dutch Buffalo Creek adjacent Fite Garright. Said parcel is part of 202 acres sold 2 June 1782 by John Buzzrd to John Rodgers. Witness: Joseph Shinn ans Samuel and Daniel Suther. Proved in June 1785 court by oath of Joseph Shinn. 7 Aug 1787. State Grant 618 issued at Kinston, vol. 68 p.22, at 50 shilling the 100 acres, to John Berger by Gov. Rd. Caswell, 200 acres on Little Buffalo Creek, adjacent John Bussard and William Mesinger. J. Glascow, security. Received in Secretary's office by J. Martin, D. Security. [Mecklenburg Co, NC, Deed Book 13, p.287] [Note: John Berger was married to Ann Bushart, the daughter of John Bushart.]

7 Aug 1787. State Grant 586 issued at Kinston, vol. 68 p.45, at 10 pounds the 100 acres, to Frederick Beck by Gov. Rd. Caswell, 100 acres on Little Buffalo Creek, adjacent other lands of Beck and John Bussard . J. Glascow, security. Received in Secretary's office by J. Martin, D. Security. [Mecklenbug Co, NC, Deed Book 13, p.290] [Note: Frederick Peck was married to Elizabeth Bushart, the daughter of John Bushart. Frederick Peck was often called "Beck" due to German "b" and "p" sounding very similar.]

7 Aug 1787. State Grant 679 issued at Kinston, vol. 68 p.45, at 10 pounds the 100 acres, to Jacob Bussard by Gov. Rd. Caswell, 150 acres on Little Buffalo Creek, adjacent John Parrish, John Bussard, and John Cupps. J. Glascow, security. Received in Secretary's office by J. Martin, D. Security. 26 Nov 1789. State Grant 838 issued at Fayetteville, vol. 73 p.88, at 10 pounds the 100 acres, to John Culp, by J. Glascow, Security, 45 acres on Dutch Buffalo Creek adjacent John Buzzard, Frederick Peck, Jesse Heron, and other lands of Culp. Witness: Samuel Johnston, Gov. Received in Secretary's office by P. collier, P. Security. . [Mecklenbug Co, NC, Deed Book 13, p.387]

April 1790. Ordered by the court that a publick Road be Laid off in the county in the following manner Viz: Beggining where th publick Road that leads from Tindals Ferry on the Yadkin to South west route to [where] the Mecklenburg line joins said line, thence to Drake Harris's, thence into the great road leading from Sailsbury to Charleston near to Jacob Bogars, Which Road the following Jury are to lay off the Straightest and Best Way (to wit): Drake Harris, William Rogers, Alexander Patterson, Benjamin Boger, John Lippard, Jacob Buzzard, Henry Doland, Benjamin Basbry, Benjamin Fincher, Mathias Barringer, George Goodman, Frederick Boger, James Hearne, That they or any 12 of them be empowered to proceed to lay off Such Road and that drake Harris be Appointed Overseer of Said Road. August 1790. First Census of the United States for Mecklenburg Co, NC. John Bussard household consists of 2 males over 16, 3 females and one slave. John Berger household consists of 1 male over 16, 3 males less than 16, and 3 females. Frederick Beck household consists of one male over 16, 3 males under 16, and 8 females.

December 1792. Cabarrus County formed from the part of Mecklenburg County where John Bushart lived.

21 Oct 1794. Petit Jury: Philip Shive, Jacob Boshard, Henry Simon, John Long, George Earnhart, Archibald M'Larty, Robert Davis, James Carrigan, Samuel Harris, Henry Pyler, James Scott, Jr., Martin Young. Trial: Jacob Mussgenug vs. James Curry. Verdict for the plaintiff. Assess damages of 38.5.6 pounds. [Note: Jacob Mussgenug (later shortened to Moose) was married to Barbara Bushart, the sister of Jacob Bushart. It seems odd that Jacob Bushart would be allowed to be on the jury in a case involving his brother-in-law.] [Cabarrus Co, NC, P&Q]

Early March 1795. John Bushart dies of old age.

12 March 1795. "Marz 12, 1795 begraben D. alte Boshart. Luc 2:29. Herr nun lassest Du ..." Translated from German, "March 12, 1795 buried the old man Boshart. [preached] Luke 2:29. Lord, now lettest thou thy faithful servant depart in peace, according to thy word." [The Account Book of Pastor Storch]. 

20 April 1795. The Last Will and Testament of John Boshard deceased was proved in open court by the Oath of John Culp, a subscribing witness thereto. Ordered therefore that Letters Testamentory be issued to Jacob Boshard and Daniel Garret, executors nominated in said will, said executors came into court and were qualified as the law directs. The said will being filed and copy sent. [Cabarrus Co, NC Court of Pleas and Quarters Sessions, p.82, April 1795 Session.]

7 May 1795. Catherine Weaver to Wendall Miller, John Barrier, Frederick Peck, and Jacob Boshart for 41 pounds 6 shillings and a penny, 250 acres on Lick Creek. Conditioned that Weaver pay one pepper corn each year for two years on May 7, and repay the original amount on 7 May 1797, otherwise the property is forfeited to these Grantees. Witness: Robert Linn, Samuel Dayton. Proved by Dayton at May Court 1795. [Rowan Co, NC, Deed Book 14, p.58.]

3rd Monday July 1795. 409.17.9 pounds return on the estate of John Boshard by Daniel Garret, one of the executors. [Cababarrus Co, NC, P&Q]

17 Jul 1810. George Roseman & wife [Catherine Bushart Roseman, Jacob's half-sister] vs. Jacob Boshart & Daniel Jarrett, executors of the John Boshart petition. Ordered that Jacob Boshart & daniel Jarrett appear next court to show cause why the will of John Boshart has not been executed. [Cabarrus Co, NC, P&Q]

15 Oct 1810. George Barringer deceased. Widow's dower to be laid off by a jury of: E.D. Harris, Peter Kauble, John Barringer Jr, Jacob Barger, William Hinseman, Mathias Barnhardt, Jacob Boshart, John Peck, Peter Kulp, William Lowder, Henry Kulp, Peter Troutman blacksmith. [Note that this Peter Troutman, the blacksmith, was the nephew of the Peter Troutman whose estate was administered by Jacob Bushart from 1806 to 1808. 9 Feb 1819. Daniel Ritinghour Bushart born. [From Jacob Bushart Bible. Some discrepancies with other records. His tombstone in Henry Co, TN says 9 Feb 1817. His baptismal record at Bethel German Reformed Church, Stanly Co, NC, says 8 Feb 1819.]

25 Jul 1819. Daniel Boshart, born 8 Feb 1819, son of Jacob Boshart, was baptized with his parents as the sponsors. [Baptismal records of Bethel German Reformed Church, now United Church of Christ, Stanly Co, NC.]

10 Nov 1820. John Bushart marries Elizabeth Troutman, Jacob Moose (his cousin) bondsman. [Cabarrus Co, NC, Marriage Records].

22 Jan 1822. John Bushart sells to Peter Culp 155 acres for $130 on the waters of Buffalo Creek. Witness: John Moose. [Cabarrus Co, NC, Deeds, Book 14, p.169
