Generation 2

Edward Reavis Jr.

dward Jr. was born about 1715 in Henrico Co, VA. It has been suggested that his wife Mary's surname was ISHAM, but has not been proven. He apparently died in 1850. Children:

  3 - Isham b. ca 1748 NC; d. 1829 IL; m. Matilda Anne JONES
  3 - Lucy b. ca 1750 no data

1745 purchased 120 acres on the Moratock (Roanoke) River in Northampton County, NC from Arthur Jordan, Sr.

1747 witnessed deed of father Edward, Sr., purchase of improved plantation on the Roanoke River, Northampton County, NC.

1745-7 married Mary, probably ISHAM, since Ishams lived in Henrico County and he and Mary named their first and only (surving) son Isham. Probably in NC, possibly VA.

September 1748 Birth of son Isham Northampton Co, NC.

1750 Administration bond estate of Edward, Jr., to wife Mary; signed by Mary Reviss and father-in-law- Edward Rev... (seal obliterates the spelling of the name). This document survives in the North Carolina Historical Commission, Raleigh, NC.
